Our big new exciting news (at least in our little lives) is that Graham is now Sous Chef at Olea. Thursday was his first day starting to take on the duties and today it was made official by management. It is pretty unheard of someone becoming a Sous at a place like Olea after less than 2 years of professional cooking. What is also nice is that he will be salaried, it can be a pain (longer hours) but at least we always know how much money will be coming in. Oliver now goes to Lindsay & Noah's for four 3/4 days, which doesn't seem to faze him a bit.
The change is coming about due to Executive Chef Aaron Barnett being offered 23Hoyt to run and given reign to change the menu more to his tastes. This week there was a flurry of blogs about the move (Aaron's) caused by the lead story for Oregonlive.com's food section.
It looks like we are back on a peak and we just hope that this peak is a plateau! (or maybe we are just on a foothill!) This change gets us one step closer to reaching our goal of buying a house next year, so it makes us very happy, not to mention how great it is for Graham's career!
Sorry I kept you waiting so long and I hope it was worth the wait for you!
