The newest addition

I would like to introduce you to the newest addition of out family...

 It's a 2003 Toyota Highlander.
We are very fortunate to have family that can help us and so My Mom and Rick helped us get this beautiful new car this past Sunday. There are no words to express how thankful and grateful we are.

We woke up Sunday morning to snow. Loaded up and headed down to Albany to meet Mom and Rick and take a look at the car ourselves. It was a bit more money than we had all been looking for but at a Hertz lot. Only 1 owner and 60k miles which seemed pretty unheard of from our research. Graham did the test drive and we decided that we loved it. Both Mom & Rick and the Elder Chaney's own Highlanders so we already had our minds made up about it being the type of car we wanted.
Next up was the numbers game. They are actaully pretty good there and don't really haggle. They look at Kelly Blue book and  sell for that price. This one was already discounted from that price anyway. The issue was that due to the economy, KBB changes thier values every week. The Suby dropped almost 2k from a month earlier when I had checked and threw us off a bit. They were able to work with us though since we had some work done to it in September.

Even though the process was a lot smoother than normal it still ate up about 4 hours. Luckily Oliver was pretty well behaved and there was a lot of room to run around. It was way past nap time though and he was crashing fast.

We finally got everything all settled and headed out to our "new" car.

As Graham had O in the back to change his diaper, I noticed that there was a giant bolt and washer in the front right tire.

Luckily the guys just took it over to a local tire shop and got it patched up. We then all got in Mom & Rick's car and has some yummy lunch at Los Tequilas, a recommendation from Miss Marci.
We headed back over after Dinner, loaded up in out highlanders and were off!

Tuesday morning snow.

Yesterday was my first time driving it. I felt like a suburban house wife. It is so quiet and smooth and feels like a tank. I can easier plop Oliver in his seat, don't have to climb into the middle of the car, worry about bonking his or my head and actually fit in the back seat! His feet no longer reach the backs of the front seats unless Graham is driving, he is in the reclined position and stretching his toes as far as possible.
Now we are one step closer to being ready for baby #2!
